Earlier than you might think. Students can start as early as 6th grade, when there is still time to build habits, explore interests, and shape a profile over multiple years. Students who join in 11th or 12th grade still get a focused plan to get into their top choice schools.
No. Spark Apply coaches essays the way a good counselor would — asking questions and giving structural feedback. It can fix grammar or rephrase a specific sentence your student asks about, but it will not write the essay, or a paragraph of it, for them, and it never writes into the draft. That protects academic integrity and keeps students safe under college AI policies.
From verified sources such as the Common Data Set, IPEDS, and official college and scholarship websites, refreshed regularly. Admit rates, deadlines, and costs are looked up from that data — never guessed by the AI.
Parents/guardians get a read-only dashboard with overall progress, upcoming deadlines, and areas that need attention, plus summary digests. Reflective content like essay drafts and journal entries stays private to the student unless they choose to share it.
Yes. Parents/guardians consent on behalf of all minors, with a verified parental consent flow for students under 13 as required by COPPA. We collect only the data the product needs, encrypt it in transit and at rest, and never sell it.
